Biographical Information

President A. Michael Ruderman entered the title examination industry in 1984. He founded and directed the Massachusetts Bay Title Company in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Later, he was Chief Title Examiner for Closings, Ltd., which operated in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. There he managed a title plant serving 20 closing attorneys in 5 regional offices, employing 9 staff examiners and 60 independently contracted examiners. Michael Ruderman has personally performed over 5,000 title examinations. He has served as an adjunct lecturer in the Real Estate program of Northeastern University's University College, and has assisted in seminars offered by Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education. He currently serves as a Commissioner on the Historical Commission of the Town of Arlington and as an elected Town Meeting member there. He is also a licensed real estate sales agent. He holds an A.B. degree in medieval history from Harvard College.

Vice President Susan Cronin Ruderman has worked in the field of fund raising and information management for over eighteen years. She began her development research career at MIT during its $700 million campaign and served as associate director of development research at Harvard University for 5 years. She was the inaugural director of research at Isaacson, Miller, the second largest executive search firm in Boston.

She is a frequent speaker on technology in fundraising for such groups as the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP; formerly National Association of Fund Raising Executives--NSFRE); the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE); and the New England Development Research Association (NEDRA). She is co-editor of Understanding Development Research: Techniques and Commentary published by Orca in 1995 and a regular columnist for Contributions magazine and Prospect Research Online (PRO).  She is also author of a chapter in The American Prospector (Taft, 1992). She teaches continuing education courses in fundraising at the Cambridge Center for Adult Education and the Boston Center for Adult Education. She is a trustee of the Robbins Library in Arlington, MA.

Susan Ruderman is a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard College with a degree in classics; she also holds a Certificate in Museum Studies from the Harvard Extension School, and an Ed.M. with a concentration in administration, planning, and social policy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
